In the Alt Penedes we stop at a small winery where the best wines have been cultivated and pressed for generations. There we meet a friendly guide of the winery, who takes us on a tour through the 500 year old bodega and shows us how cava is produced. Of course, we will try sparkling wine and local delicacies.

In Tarragona we explore the ancient Roman city and stroll through the alleys of medieval Tarragona. However, we approach the matter comfortably. We don’t want you to feel rushed.

After the sightseeing tour we look for a shady place in an idyllic bay for a picnic or, if desired, a nice inn to have lunch there. Of course there is also time for a little siesta to relax a bit.

On the way back to Barcelona we stop briefly in Altafulla, an idyllic little fishing village by the sea, famous for the remains of a Roman villa.

In the late afternoon we arrive in the picturesque, historic coastal town of Sitges, which was already a Mecca for artists in the 19th century and is still a popular destination today.

As we stroll through the picturesque streets of Sitges, you might succumb to the magic of this unique place.

We are probably too late for the magnificent museums of Sitges, (for example Cau Ferrat , the former home of the Art Nouveau painter Santiago Rusiñol, which sits on a cliff directly above the surf) and the Museu Marical (small art museum with spectacular views).

In any case we visit Casa Bacardi and learn about the revolutionary rum distillation techniques of the family (the Bacardi family emigrated from Sitges to Cuba).

Finally we treat ourselves to a wine or a cold beer in a beach bar before returning to Barcelona.
